Old English bantams were developed in England many years ago presumably from the common crossbred bantams of the countryside. Silver Blue Old English bantam chicks are three colors: black, dark gray and light gray. They have single combs and clean, black legs and feet. Adults have white heads and dark blue laced with white plumage on their body, stern and lower thigh. The upper breast and front of the neck is black laced with white and the lower breast feathers, wing primaries and secondaries are black. Males have white hackle and saddle plumage with each feather having a black stripe through the middle. The back is white, main tail and sickles are blue with white lacing. The wing bows are white creating a distinct wing bar when the wing is folded. The female?s hackle is dark blue with white lacing and the back and main tail are dark blue with white lacing. The wing shoulders, fronts and bows are all dark blue with white lacing.
